HTC ChaCha gets pricing for UK market

The HTC ChaCha is just a week away from launch and now its UK price has been unveiled by retailer Carphone Warehouse, allowing potential owners to work out how much of their hard earned cash they will have to invest in this Android smartphone.
The ChaCha is a significant launch not only because it brings version 2.3 of Android to the mid range market but also because it is imbued with an impressive array of fully integrated Facebook functions. It even has a dedicated physical button for launching the social networking services located on the lower right hand corner.
If you want to pick up the ChaCha on a pay monthly contract then it looks like the going rate is £20 per month with the phone itself arriving free of charge. Halving the monthly payments will require that you pay out £180 upfront and the ChaCha is likely to cost £250 SIM free, so there should be plenty of choice when it comes to payment.
HTC has gone back to a more traditional form factor for the ChaCha, integrating a full physical QWERTY keypad as you might expect to find on a BlackBerry handset and opting for a modest 2.6 inch touchscreen display.
Despite the screen being smaller than on many other mid range Android phones you get the full HTC Sense experience with multiple homescreens and a wide range of clever interface functions. Combined with Android 2.3 the package will start to look very appealing indeed.
If you are hoping to sell your old mobile phone, then getting a quick cash injection from one of the many recycling firms available will help to cover the cost of picking up the HTC ChaCha when it launches in the UK next week on Wednesday the 1st of June.
