LG Miracle launching at MWC

LG will be releasing a mid-range Windows Phone handset codenamed the Miracle during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) this month.
It will be a decidedly mid-range handset, sporting a single core 1GHz processor, a four inch touchscreen display and version 7.5 of the Windows Phone operating system.
A five megapixel camera with HD video capture help the Miracle to meet Microsoft's minimum specifications for any Windows Phone handset.
The most interesting thing about the LG Miracle is the report from PocketNow, which suggests that it will have NFC (near field communication) onboard, a feature which has previously been unsupported on Windows Phone.
NFC has so far been limited to smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but the inclusion on the LG Miracle would expand the market into more affordable mobiles.
With NFC, it is possible to carry out contactless payments at compatible terminals while out and about. Although this is still not quite on the radar of mainstream users, it should become better understood as the year wears on and models like the LG Miracle are launched.
Now the LG Miracle might get a little more attention at this year's MWC than it might otherwise have received, because of the news that Samsung is reportedly pulling out of the show.
In an email acquired by PC Mag, the South Korean manufacturer said that it would no longer be holding its major press conference which had originally been planned for the event.
Some took this to indicate that it would be entirely extricating itself from proceedings, but it now looks like Samsung will still run its stand from the show floor.
The Galaxy S3 smartphone is already confirmed as being unavailable to view at MWC, but whether Samsung as a whole will follow suit remains to be seen.
