LG delays Opitmus 3D ahead of UK launch

The LG Optimus 3D is now not likely to arrive in the UK until June, after it was initially pencilled in for a launch this week.
The Optimus 3D is the second dual core mobile to arrive from LG this year, although unlike the Optimus 2X it will have a couple of unique tricks up its sleeve.
The first is its 3D-ready display which lets you ditch the distracting polarising or active glasses and enjoy deep, engaging content and menus from day one.
No other major smartphone has sported an autosterescopic 3D display to date and the Optimus 3D is being seen as a precursor to an eventual torrent of competing 3D devices which will swamp the mobile market.
The second impressive feature of the LG Optimus 3D is its ability to record 3D video and take 3D photos using the twin set of five megapixel cameras on the rear. Full HD 1080p video recording in 2D will be possible to really stretch the 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor on the inside, so it is from every point of view an advanced handset.
When the Optimus 3D was announced it was thought to be arriving in late April, but now online retailer Clove has revised this date to June 6th, with other retailers sure to follow suit.
SIM free prices for the Optimus 3D vary between around £450 and £520, but in any bracket it will seem like quite a bargain given the amount of bleeding edge hardware that is housed within its slender frame.
Watching anticipated mobiles fail to meet their launch date is a sad but inevitable aspect of the market today, although the recent announcement that the Samsung Galaxy S2 is actually going to arrive in the UK earlier than expected, shows that there are some exceptions to the rule.
