LG mistakenly debuts Optimus 7 on UK blog

South Korean mobile manufacturer LG has published details about its upcoming Optimus 7 smartphone online and in doing so broke an embargo enforced by Microsoft, which was supposed to prevent firms from outing Windows Phone 7-based mobiles before the official launch this week.
LG's UK blog was briefly home to a press release giving complete and accurate information about the Optimus 7, although once its mistake had been realised the details were quickly pulled from the site, no doubt leaving certain employees in hot water over the revelations.
The good news for consumers and the media is that there is now a much clearer picture of what the Optimus 7 and the new operating system will bring to the table.
LG has equipped the Optimus 7 with a 3.8 inch display running a resolution of 800x480. Inside there will be 16GB of storage space and a 1500mAh battery that should keep it chugging along nicely throughout an average working day.
A five megapixel camera featuring HD video capture capabilities will sit on the rear of the Optimus 7 and both Wi-Fi and 3G networking will allow for fast internet access and file downloads when you are on the move.
Various software features were revealed by LG, including something called Scansearch which will combine search capabilities with augmented reality technology. The platform will also be able to take dictations using its Voice-to-Text technology, which will allow people to write texts and post status updates without having to use their fingers to physically type.
LG was sadly not forthcoming with any pricing for the Optimus 7 in its inadvertent leak, but it should only be a short delay before full details about UK availability and associated costs will be made public for what could be the first Windows Phone 7 device to hit the market.
