The specifications of Nokia's first Windows Phone 7 mobiles have been revealed on the internet, giving fans of the ailing Finnish manufacturer something to pique their interests.
The Nokia Sea Ray will feature an AMOLED screen measuring 3.7 inches across the diagonal. Meanwhile, an eight megapixel camera on the rear will give it what will presumably be the best photographic capabilities of any contemporary WP7 smartphone.
Onboard version 7.5 of Microsoft's mobile operating system will be present and a 1.4GHz single core processor should give it more than enough power to make games, apps and web browsing fly.
The Nokia Sabre will be a little more value-oriented than the Sea Ray, equipped with a five megapixel camera and 8GB of storage, as opposed to the 16GB of its closest sibling. It will still have the same 3.7 inch AMOLED screen, which is a bonus.
At the top of the ladder in terms of Windows Phone 7 will be the Nokia Ace. This will have a 4.3 inch AMOLED screen, a high capacity battery and an eight megapixel camera.
It will have LTE connectivity onboard, at least in its US iteration where 4G networks exist to take advantage of this high speed web access.
On October 26th, the Nokia World 2011 event will be held and it is thought that the company will be finally ready to officially unveil one or more of these smartphones, according to Winrumours.
Many believe that Windows Phone 7 stands a fighting chance of outpacing iPhone sales as soon as Nokia support is granted, putting it in second place behind Android within the next few years. This places a fair amount of pressure on these new smartphones, as they have to perform well both critically and commercially to succeed.
