Motorola announced business-focused Droid Pro

Motorola has used the CTIA conference as a launch pad for another Android-based smartphone, which it hopes will take business away from rival RIM.
The mobile in question is the Droid Pro and many observers have already remarked on its suspiciously BlackBerry-esque style, complete with full physical QWERTY keypad.
The Droid Pro could be the perfect mobile to catch any disillusioned former BlackBerry users who feel that RIM's platform and hardware are stagnating and are looking for something running Android that offers a bit of future-proof value, as well as a traditional emphasis in messaging capabilities.
At first the Droid Pro will be arriving on the US market and if it makes the transition to the UK, it's likely that it will be rebranded, as the Droid brand is currently untested overseas.
Inside a 1GHz processor is pushing things forward and Android 2.2 provides cutting edge software support and a touch-friendly interface that is accessible via the perfectly proportioned 3.1 inch display. Around the back, a five megapixel camera will apparently capture solid still and moving images and you even get dual LEDs to act as a flash, which is a cut above similar business phones.
Verizon's Mike Lanman waxed lyrical about the virtues of the Droid Pro during the event, stating that as a US network partner, his firm would be able to offer Droid Pro users linked with enterprise operations a great deal of 3G coverage and security.
Like the BlackBerry range, the Droid Pro will be able to support mail synchronisation and forwarding from various services, including Gmail and Microsoft's Exchange systems. It will also have word processing and editing software that is compatible with common file formats used by businesspeople every day.
