Nokia launches smartly designed 515 handset

While Nokia may be focusing on Windows Phone for its top tier devices, it has not completely migrated to making multifunctional mobiles at the expense of ignoring the very bottom level of the market.
The Nokia 515 is a good example of why the company is still making feature phones, which are not quite classified as smartphones but still do most of the basic things and do them well.
The 515 has emerged this week and it is designed to be a stylish and light product, with a 2.4 inch colour LCD display and a five megapixel camera onboard.
The camera is particularly impressive given the handset's relatively lowly status and although it only has 256MB of space available to store data, you can add a microSD card to save even more photos.
The Nokia 515 is compatible with 3G networking, allowing for some basic web browsing, while Nokia is advertising a 10.4 hour talk time rating from a single charge.
For those who are tired of using smartphones, or perhaps simply in search of something which will last a little longer after being charged up, the 515 could be a suitable alternative.
Nokia plans to launch the phone in Russia, Germany and a couple of other European markets early next month, although at the moment, a UK release date has not been confirmed.
With a retail price of 115 Euros, or around 98, the 515 will definitely be cheap, without being a complete bargain basement option.
Its candybar design and slender profile, with white and black iterations available, will appeal to the fashion-conscious. And if you are not enamoured with the colourful, youth-friendly look of Nokia's Lumia range, then it might make you want to get out your wallet and commit to this Finnish manufacturer all over again.
