Nokia to launch WP8 handset with six inch display

Nokia has launched a number of high end handsets in 2013 already, but it seems that it has at least one more trick up its sleeve, according to reports from The Verge.
It is now thought that a brand new high end smartphone from the Finnish firm will emerge before the end of the year, bringing with it the first six inch 1080p display to grace the Windows Phone party.
Windows Phone 8 does not currently support 1080p resolutions, but an update from Microsoft will change all that and the Nokia phone, codenamed the Bandit, will take full advantage.
With a six inch screen the Bandit will be more of a tablet than a smartphone and will fall into the same category as other 'phablets,' like the Samsung Galaxy Note range.
Nokia is also rumoured to be endowing this device with a quad core processor, which will give it more power than any other WP8 handset. Quad core support is also currently lacking from this platform, but once it arrives, it will finally be able to stack up against Android, at least on a technical level.
The final rumour about the next Nokia smartphone is that it will feature a 20 megapixel camera, making it a more powerful photography tool than the Lumia 925 but a little less capable than the Lumia 1020.
Sony's upcoming Xperia i1 is thought to be toting a 20 megapixel camera and if Nokia follows in its footsteps with the Bandit, then this could become the new standard for smartphone photo resolutions.
A Nokia phablet would be welcome for those who have wanted to own a big screen smartphone but have not been that impressed with the Android-based Galaxy Note family. With rumours of the HTC One Max also surfacing recently, the phablet war is about to intensify.
