Samsung planning European launch of Galaxy i5510

Samsung is going to be bringing yet another entry level Android-based smartphone to Europe and presumably the UK in the form of the Galaxy i5510.
While the Samsung Galaxy S has recently sold more than five million units despite its high end status, the Galaxy i5510 will be a much more humble affair that aims to please lovers of messaging and social networking rather than those looking for HD video recording and big screen thrills.
The i5510 is likely to suit those on a tight budget, but despite its modest origins it will still pack in plenty of solid capabilities. The presence of a full QWERTY keypad will definitely be a plus for people who text and email regularly and the 3.2 inch touchscreen display means that the finger-friendly interface will be easy to manipulate when the keypad is hidden using the slider mechanism.
Within the i5510 is a 667MHz processor which is definitely going to have enough poke to keep the latest version of Google's Android operating system ticking along nicely. Samsung has skinned Android 2.2 with its own TouchWIZ user interface, so for all intents and purposes the Galaxy i5510 will look and run much like its larger, more expensive Galaxy S sibling.
If you want to pick up the Galaxy i5510 sim free, it is likely to cost around £340 in the UK, although currently it is likely to get picked up by various networks and consequently retail free of charge on a contract deal.
Current information suggests that Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy i5510 in the UK at some point in November and as Christmas draws closer there will be a number of big manufacturers filling the market with their latest mobiles to entice consumers to part with their cash in exchange for the ideal present.
