Slim HTC smartphone revealed for 2012 release

A new smartphone called the HTC Ville has been unveiled via unofficial online leaks and it looks to be one of a growing number of upcoming handsets that will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
By today's standards, the HTC Ville will be right at the top of the hardware tree, with a 1.5GHz dual core processor and full HD 1080p capturing capabilities of its eight megapixel camera.
>However, by the time it is launched in early 2012, it is certain to be a step or two below the very pinnacle of the market because HTC is developing the quad core Edge smartphone.
The HTC Ville will have a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display, a welcome addition since HTC has been sticking to Super LCD screens ever since the resources ran dry during production of the original Desire in 2010.
The early leaks acquired by BGR show that the HTC Ville will be a relatively nondescript mobile from the front, featuring no capacitive or physical buttons or identifying marks, as a result of the new Android 4.0 interface.
With a chassis reported to measure less than 8mm thick it will be a svelte device, coming in thinner than the iPhone 4S. This is another important improvement for HTC, which has been a little behind the curve with its recent array of high end mobiles.
This HTC handset and a slew of other next-generation mobile devices will be making their first official appearance at the Mobile World Congress event early next year.
By this time, the original Desire will be two years old and people who invested in a 24 month contract will be able to sell their old mobile phone and use the cash to splash out on a brand new dual or quad core handset.
