Sony Ericsson developing dual-core Nozomi smartphone

The Sony Ericsson Nozomi has been revealed as the manufacturer's range-topping handset for the 2012 market, although this dual core behemoth may not be as technically adept as its contemporaries by the time its release date rolls around.
According to sources mentioned on fan site Xperia Blog, the Nozomi will feature a dual core CPU running at 1.5GHz, a good 300MHz faster than current frontrunners like the Samsung Galaxy S2 and HTC Sensation.
1GB of RAM and a 32GB storage capacity as standard will make the Nozomi very competitive when compared to today's top models. However, the point being made by some sources is that the smartphones of 2011 will be outdated by newer models next year, which might make the Nozomi seem a little less impressive in the long run.
A 4.3 inch screen will make the Nozomi relatively pocketable and its native resolution of 1280x720 will allow its display to easily outclass the likes of even the iPhone 4's Retina Display in terms of pixels per inch, delivering next-generation clarity and crispness.
To keep everything running for at least a day of moderate use the Sony Ericsson Nozomi will apparently have a high capacity 1750mAh battery and this will be a welcome addition, as modern smartphone owners will appreciate how touch and go battery life can be on the current generation of handsets.
Expect to see the Sony Ericsson Nozomi in the UK from March 2012, with an official unveiling expected during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas at the start of the year.
To be fair to Sony Ericsson, it has not been a firm to push the technical envelope unnecessarily. This year's Xperia Arc was a single core affair when the likes of the LG Optimus 2X were flying the flag for dual core chips, but its elegant design and intelligent software made it all the more impressive.
