iPhone 4S to set sales record

Apple only made the iPhone 4S available for sale at the end of last week, but it has already made its way into the hands of four million customers the world over, doubling the amount sold during the release of its predecessor in 2010.
As well as shifting vast quantities of this brand new model, Apple has announced that 25 million users have downloaded and started to use the spanking new iOS 5 operating system on their iPhones, iPods and iPads.
Although the iPhone 4S had been criticised for retaining the same physical design and screen size as its predecessor, with all new hardware and the Siri voice command system it has clearly piqued the interest of a global audience.
Apple founder Steve Jobs passed away in the same week as the iPhone 4S was officially showcased and some had feared that this might result in a drop in share prices for the company, but it appears that worries were unfounded.
Over the weekend, Apple stocks were at an all-time high of around £280, which is a 97 per cent increase in just a year.
Various network providers have been encouraging users to switch from their old handsets in favour of a brand new iPhone 4S. In fact one company in the US was encouraging people to sell their old mobile phones even if they were under 12 months old.
With many contracts now lasting 2 years, it can be two whole hardware cycles before you are able to get a brand new handset. If your mobile rotation has fallen favourably then you could easily upgrade to the iPhone 4S today and offset a little of the cost by selling your old mobile phone online.
